FLU AAJKAL

After watching the movie, I got confused, which one is a hit?? Swine Flu or Luv Aajkal!! Thought for 5 minutes… then preferred listening to umpteen numbers of people surrounding me. There were around 30 % janta discussing about Saif and Deepika, but there were rest who were discussing a pandemic. My god!!! Suddenly, I thought what if, there comes a movie.FLU AAJKAL where in hero and heroine both are standing close to each other wearing a mask.

I must say everything to me, has started relating to swine flu, and you must also notice the same. I just thought when my parents said why you don't buy out a mask for you as well. I asked them a question: "Don't you think papa when I will wear a mask and roam around here and there, it would be my friends and people surrounding me who would be suspecting me as one of the swine flu victim and start running away from me." He was speechless, ended his phone saying, "but do take proper precautions and care."

Hehe coming back to humorous part, swine Flu has affected many new releases: kaminey suffers a lot due to Flu, similar goes the story for others as well. Hey think , how couples will survive, a romantic scene would be much more comic and the entire focus would be on the masks, there would be lot much work left for fashion industry, there would be lot many advertisements and many variants of masks available for users, the best part : JUST IMAGINE : you getting out of Bschool and marketers are hired to sell Masks, operations grads hired for optimizing the logistics, finance guys doing the risks analysis and deriving new costs structures and SMART beautiful HRs given task for hiring SWINE Flu Free individual.

I would love to do branding of SWINE FLU: let's say… SWINE FLU T shirts, Gadgets, Watches, stickers, helmets, goggles, masks and what not.

My first AD goes like this for children and people, who watch mythological serials, but these things are lot much questionable in indian society, So I guess I could become a celebrity by this, hitting sentiments of many.GUD na!!! Quick way to become celebrity.

Then I thought, what will happen to school books, let's say how the photo of MONA LISA would be? Gr8 na? Everything will change!! World would be new!! Faculties will come to class rooms with a mask and will prefer what they are required to do and move out asap without troubling students, most probably, students would be asked to remain silent and class participation marks would be given to geniuses like me who prefer to remain silent during class (I mean what they call healthy class room discussion between teachers and students).

All stage shows, fashion world would be hilarious. JUST Imagine..Glamorous models wearing just masks!!! Lolz.

Think about a stage show for school kids, I am sad, how bad it would be, JUsT ImagINe

And song plays: " Karo daya haath aage, karo daya haath peeche, karo daya haath upar karo ab upar neeche"( a BOOGIE WOOGIE SONG related to aerobics)

Just ImAGine: A Pig coming to you and asking?? PIGS are dangerous or Humans???

Then I thought, Why not to go ahead and make a movie:

FLU AAJKAL. What an IDEA Sir Ji.

I remember just as soon I put the topic on facebook, got many replies from friends on chat, what are the kinds of roles available. I recalled the ONE LINER, I am bound to hear the most " MAiN KYA BOLU" i.e. what shall I say!! But soon a virgin idea came to me, how about the characters such as khasi, jhukam, dama, dard, haddi, bhukar, kamjori etc commonly known by educated people as chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort.

But to my amusement, when one of my friend wanted a role of villain, I thought, the roles that I decided till now all were of VILLAIN ONLY, ohh my goodness, a movie which has only villains..MY MY… what to do!!! I need some SHAKTI MANs and SUPER MANs…so entered my super heroes "Relenza and Tamiflu".

All in all, one thing which I wanted to address, aren't we ailing something??

The matter of fact is that whether it is swine flu which attacks irrespective of socio-economic background or the likes of malaria, dengue and encephalitis, it is imperative for the government to accept that private initiatives will have to be given its due importance and without that, India's healthcare system would not improve. The reason for the same is simple. It has been observed that in most of the sectors wherever India has excelled, those have been private initiatives that have really played a critical role in bringing a paradigm shift in that sector. Whether in the telecom industry or in the aviation, insurance, consumer durables or pharmaceuticals industry, private players have played a critical role in bringing back resurgence. I wonder how many of the critical drugs that we generally use are from Indian government-owned pharma companies. If intense competition in telecom, insurance and consumer durables has been successful in bringing down the prices and in making products affordable for the poor, then one wonders why the same cannot be applied in the case of healthcare too. In this respect, what is important to note is that the upper middle class and the rich have stopped going to government hospitals a long time back, thanks to pathetic treatment, indifference and lack of basic hygiene.
It is for this reason that private participation is imperative in a big way in health care. And it is not that we do not have examples within the nation. The pioneering initiatives by renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. Devi Shetty with respect to affordable healthcare in Karnataka have been extremely successful and have shown that it is possible to have health insurance for something as low as Rs 5 – much like the chhota recharge concept in telecom. Just as the microfinance concept of Md. Younus has been revolutionizing rural business where conventional banking has relatively failed, the concept of micro health insurance has a similar ability to fuel a major change in the way healthcare is taken care of in India (This becomes all the more important, especially because of the fact that India's standing is a dismal 128 in the Human development Index, a poor reflection of the state of things in rural India). No doubt, such innovations would originate only from entrepreneurs and not from government hospitals. Nevertheless, these need to be nurtured. Unfortunately, here too everything comes to a knot as it seems that not only is there a considerable lot of resistance by the bureaucracy but there is also a tendency to not let the leash or control of things go out of hand.

In the given environment, it is not just swine flu that needs to be arrested, but even the flu that ails the entire health infrastructure, i.e. the political mindset, needs to be corrected simultaneously. My urge to all B-School grads to think seriously in this direction!!!

My Idea of FriendShip

I always think why some people are my good friends and why others are not, trying to figure out the same thing. try to feel with me...and tell me whther i am right or wrong.
i will go with the different phases of life.
In kindergarten your idea of a good friend was the person who let you have the red crayon when all that was left was the ugly black one.

In first class your idea of a good friend was the person who went to the bathroom with you and held your hand as you walked through the scary halls.

In second class your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you stand up to the class bully.

In third class your idea of a good friend was the person who shared their lunch with you when you forgot yours on the bus.
In fourth class your idea of a good friend was the person who was willing to switch square dancing partners in sports room so you wouldn't have to be stuck do-si-do-ing with Nasty Ram or Smelly Shyam.

In fifth class your idea of a friend was the person who saved a seat on the back of the bus for you.

In sixth class your idea of a friend was the person who let you copy the social studies homework from the night before that you had.

In seventh class your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you pack up your stuffed animals and old batball but didn't laugh at you when you finished and broke out into tears.

In eighth class your idea of a friend was the person who went up to ameeta or amisha, your new crush, and asked them to dance with you, so that if they said no you wouldn't have to be embarrassed.
In ninth class your idea of a good friend was the person who would go to a party thrown by a senior so you wouldn't wind up being the only freshman there.

In tenth class your idea of a good friend was the person who changed their schedule so you would have someone to sit with at lunch.

In eleventh class your idea of a good friend was the person who gave you rides in their new car, convinced your parents that you shouldn't be grounded, consoled you when you broke up with TINA or MEENA, and found you a date to the prom.

In twelfth class your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you pick out a college/university, assured you that you would get into that college/university, helped you deal with your parents who were having a hard time adjusting to the idea of letting you go...

At graduation your idea of a good friend was the person who was crying on the inside but managed the biggest smile one could give as they congratulated you.

The summer after twelfth class your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you clean up the bottles from that party, helped you sneak out of the house when you just couldn't deal with your parents, assured you that now that you and shweta or you and priyanka were back together, you could make it through anything, helped you pack up for university and just silently hugged you as you looked through blurry eyes at 18 years of memories you were leaving behind, and finally on those last days of childhood, went out of their way to give you reassurance that you would make it in college as well as you had these past 18 years, and most importantly sent you off to college knowing you were loved.
Now, your idea of a good friend is still the person who gives you the better of the two choices, holds your hand when you're scared, helps you fight off those who try to take advantage of you, thinks of you at times when you are not there, reminds you of what you have forgotten, helps you put the past behind you but understands when you need to hold on to it a little longer, stays with you so that you have confidence, goes out of their way to make time for you, helps you clear up your mistakes, helps you deal with pressure from others, smiles for you when they are sad, helps you become a better person, and most importantly loves you!
this is important for those you have met along the way.
Thank you for being a friend. No matter where we go or who we become, never forget who helped us get there. There's never a wrong time to pick up a phone or send a message telling your friends how much you miss them or how much you love them.
You know who you are................... pass it on to someone who you want to remind. If you love someone, tell them.Remember always to say what you mean. Most importantly, stay close to your friends and family, for they have helped make you the person that you are today and are what it's all about anyway.

Sometimes you just don't want to hurt ur dear ones...but they get hurt.
The difference between expressing love and having regrets is that the regrets may stay around forever.

mera gaon mera desh...aur main

Got a chance to spend my summers at JAIPUR while doing my internship , but the heat was so scorching that limited my enjoyment. I am doing lot of field work rather I am made to do a lot of field work. Don’t get amused if you find me at any retailer where you land for buying a cold drink and the hand that offers you one is mine. As my most of friends says.....about my profile here at coke, which is sales and distribution, looking after new product launch.... COKE LELO COKE LELO.....ya fir EK COKE DENA plzzzz....
There are lot many things happening which is keeping me busy, or in fact a better word would be i am trying to keep myself busy in, not only me, in fact, lot many people thinking about the new development. Few of them could be expressed but most of them would require a strong point of view and you need to think with me whether I am going on the right track or not. But this blog is just a reminiscence of the few events that took place which are in news and in day to day talks.
To start with, the most awaited IPL... which was supposed to be starting in INDIA, and I was amongst the most excited ones, being a resident of Jaipur where the IPL tournament was supposed to kick start. Then came, the drama of security(elections) which led to the entire event being shifted to SOUTH AFRICA, for which I am really confused till now, with the choice of venue. Matches played in the condition where there could be rainfall anytime, and god only knows how there could be anyplace be terror proof.
Nevertheless, i am really impressed by the new profit making idea, the STRATEGIC TIME OUT. A simple idea but really thought provoking. I don’t think anyone has really thought about how much money they are minting by this small change.
The other one, the most impressive --- the ZOO-ZOO----, the new Vodafone avatar, which overtook, the brand ambassador, the cute dog..u and me..in this beautful world. The best part was that the entire series of ads were acted by small kids, who wore wrinkle free dresses, and it is hard to guessthat they arn't animations.
Really impressive series...!!!
Next, the elections, the best thing to watch out in a democracy. But to our agony, if we look at the participation, it was just less than 58%. But again, we are unfortunate, I am just thinking about the percentage voting we elect our government which will decide our lives for next 5 years. I see a simple logic, say a party gathers 200 seats out of 540, all figures are rounded off, so it makes it to, 37% of the total seats. And if 58 % of people have voted, then mathematics says, the total number of people who decide in selection of government is 37% of 58% which is 21.5%. If somebody disagrees with me, i would surely want to know your point of view.
So 21% people decide the fate of thelargest democracy in the world. Quite amazing na...hehe..me too amused.
Forth story should undoubtedly be for recession, because i feel, it came at the right time when we, my fellow batch mates had started bundling up the ideas for their new journey after MBA. We always thought that MBA from a college of good repute means a lot, a lot either would be a summers internship from college with a handsome stipend or a company with good profile or at last a big brand name, getting all would be dream come true, which is even a reverie for best colleges of the country, hence the truth, all our fancy dreams were shattered. I ma talking about the internship and not job because we have just completed 1 year and now, at this stage internship was important not job. But the most shocking decision which amused me was students who opted for marketing instead of their liking and taste, only to get a job. I don’t know what is right at this moment, but yes, they just don’t want to lose a chance to lose a job. Heard a lot about DAY 0 at B-Schools, but it became dream to watch it happen for most of the b-schools including mine. I feel fortunate that i got an opportunity to work for a big brand COCA COLA with loads of learning’s. But i feel bad for my friends who are struggling to find topic for their projects just because they need to show it at the college because the big banks and investment firms are also not able to make a good use of a MBA student. Some selling mutual funds, some just reinventing the wheel by reading the old documents in the company and thus ending by finding out ways to make it more presentable. HATS OFF to great MBA story.
I see all things falling be it SENSEX or devaluation of Rupee, real estate prices, and the other things rising were inflation, corruption, rallies, terrorism, blasts and many more things.
I small incident happened few days back, when, just before election , we are issued voter ID cards, we have a system in which the parties and concerned people come and give the card at our home. I was amazed, those people came to my home thrice for giving my mother’s Voter ID card, which had every time some changes, like for eg. Sometimes, different address, different photo or different husband name. My mother didn’t accepted the other ones and asked for her original one which she received and asked them to destroy the other ones, but that brought the clear picture of the entire election scene and BOGUS voting that takes place here. I said before 21 % people voted but now i must say it would be much lesser. JAI HOOOOOOOO.
As against all odds, I must say there exists humanity. About 40 days back i got an opportunity to be a part of eye donation. Let me narrate the whole story. I went to my maternal uncle at a place NEEMUCH in M.P., where in i got to know from my mama, that there has been a death in a village nearby, and he wanted, being lions president somebody to accompany the doctor and one member from LIONS club, who could go and convince the family member to donate the eye of the dead person. It was 1 in night, when we started for our journey, we were there at 2 am, the entire scene was mournful and came to know that there was some sudden burst of the nerve in the brain which lead to the death, and was shocked to know that girl was just 19 years old. We convinced the males, girl’s father for the same, since normally females couldn't be approached and they were already crying and howling at that point of time. Within 5 minutes the entire room was vacated, and there were we four people in the room, doctor, compounder, me and the dead body. It was within 10 minutes that both the eyes were taken and a certificate of appreciation as token of respect was given to girl’s father. I sincerely felt honoured to be part of such noble cause, and respect the whole lot of people who give away a body part for donation in a culture where any kind of piercing and cutting of body after that is considered a bad omen. The eyes could be used within 48 hrs and should be taken out within 6 hrs of death.
After that day, I feel irrespective of all ifs and buts, there are something that INDIA has, rather we INDIANS have, so we should respect for what we are but the onus lies on us to make our country a better place to live in, so my urge would be, be it elections or a mass campaign against someone or something, be sensible, without throbbing the sentiments and the property. SO one day, we all could say with are head held high....JAI HO!!

A walk to remember.

The woods were lovely dark and deep. Walking slowly beside her, in the damp mud road, was her husband whom she barely knew. He was very relaxed, happily watching a group of kids playing at a distance. Her "mehndi" was still dark and smelling fresh, reminding of the excitements and tension 2 days back. "It can't work this waymom...please stop this", she kept telling her mother till the last moment, who wouldn't listen but carry on with beautifying her. She had been crying all night and her make-up had to be patched up twiceor thrice to hide her awkwardly swollen face. It was too late now.She had to get married "NOW" to the guy...The guy whom she had seenonce and talked thrice. The guy about whom she knew nothing at all,but for his name and work. Everything happened in a hurry and everything was over before she could breathe again... here was she with this guy, all alone in this hill station... how can anybody send their daughter such a long distance with a stranger??? "Hey look atthat....!!!" he shouted in excitement... she shrugged and looked where his finger pointed...
Bright colored balloons dotted the sky. Children were jumping in joy and he seemed to be completely absorbed into it...colors are always exciting...but not now. She was not withher friends, not with her team mates, not even with her parents. This was not a 3 day tour or team building trip. This was her life and she has been forced to start off with this person. Loneliness and discomfort with this stranger was sickening...She looked at him in wonder... does he even realize that he has married me? Does he understand that he has to love me, protect me, care for me, a new girl, a stranger, all his life?
The marriage morning started like a day light nightmare for her. The first time in life she felt she should have fallen in love and then married somebody. Some man who she would have felt more comfortable with, someone whom she could call by name and introduce to friends, some one whom she could trust. But marriage morning was obviously not the time to think all these. Her parents would never have said "no" if she had declared that shewas in love. But she was not emotionally attached to anybody she met, especially guys. She was very friendly, playing, teasing, but neverhad second thought for any man around her. That brought the entire responsibility of looking for a groom on her parents' shoulders. Her parents had had a very bad time with this entire process.
They started their groom search with unending "&" operation. The concatenation of "Horoscope matching" & "Decent family" & "Goodlooking" & "Good pay" & "same cast" & so on... that always gave 0utput. Now after all that 8 months hunt, they were not ready to hearher "ifs" and "buts" for this 'good guy'. She had explained to her father. She does not feel anything for this person. He is nothingmore to me than any other software professional. Like a list of names she sees in the chat rooms. Distant and usual...Her father asked her to talk to him and even meet him and discuss their likes anddislikes. That meeting started like the induction program self introduction and ended like a 3 hour seminar. She was waiting to getaway from that place."So did you talk with him?""Yes.""Was he polite and decent?""Yes.""Oh he got that special flavored tri-color ice cream...!!!"OK. All her family and relatives discussed...She was given the chance to"understand her life partner" and that they have understood eachother "well" and she is ready for the marriage now.
All arrangements geared up and it was 24 days after her first meeting that she wasgetting married to her man... perfect match as everybody elsedescribed. Marriage hall was full with excited people, kids got the chance to play, ladies got the chance to wear the silk saree. Thesmell of rose and jasmine filled the hall. Different poses for the photographer and artificial smiles for the videos. The moment he hadtied the sacred thread was unexplainable vacuum in the head. It wasover. She was his wife. Accepted by the society and law. Her proud parents were relaxed. This was their duty they had been planning to fulfill since she was born. All this crowd will fade away, leaving her to explore her new world... He pulled her hand gently to sit on the stone bench. The bench was wet and the chillness was indeed enjoyable."
So what are you thinking about?"...that was an unexpected ball. Should she reply? Should she be silent? She remembered the two hour presentation she had taken last month. Bold and confident, she kept answering all the queries with a broadsmile. Now she remained silent. "Do you know honey... I was not forthis marriage too..." Oh my God... what did i hear??? Did he tellthat or did i think aloud? What does he mean? Didnt he like me? Washe forced into this? He must have noticed the quizzical look on myface...with a gentle smile he continued..."I wanted to look for a girl myself, buy her everything, care for her, argue with her, laugh and cry with her, then get married toher... Anything otherwise would be a drama. Traditional drama and iwas not for it anytime. But my love for my work and also my stress would not give me time and mind to search that girl...When your parents talked to me 2 weeks before our marriage, about your fear ofgetting married, to a stranger, i could completely understand your mind. I could see myself in you and that was the moment i decided i will marry you.
There was no time to prove myself to you, make you trust me, everything happened in a hurry. But there was the entire life before me, to please you, to love you, to make you trust me. This is no less than what i had dreamt, the girl i was waiting for,is you. Now tell me... will you love me???"Tears came down her cheek. Her parents had done more than their duty. They had found her the perfect guy. Thank you Mom!!! Thank you Dad!!!His question remained unanswered yet both knew the answer....
That's life………………………………Enjoy it!!!!!

LESSONS LEARNT ....... i am OK u r OK

The days between when i left the job and was waiting for my final results from different Bschools were gr8 where in i did what all i was missing during my job. But was knowing that the happy days r not here for a long time...meanwhile i was overwhelmed that my first lappie is very soon to arrive. We all inquisitive ppl from different Bschool have habit of joining orkut communities and do some chit-chat and some pre joining HOOPLA...me was also an active participant of the same. FORE 2008-10 Community was rocking. There were some regular customers who were really into business at orkut....i guess they were the one who ATE ORKUT, SLEEP ORKUT...vagarah vagarah...we all had some funniest and cutest of talks there...came to know abt my batch ...did some meetings at CCD and met the bunch of cartoons from JAIPUR ...THE JPR GANG , u could also count me in d list.
U all mite be knowing the problems wid the wrk ex guys......they speak a lot....blabber a lot...when the topic of buying a LAPTOP started..i was not the only one who was interested ..there was huge bunch like me waiting for the action to began.
Here would like to mention and introduce the important character of the story..before that must mention as in all movies does ALL CHARACTER bla bla bla in this blog are fictitious ....hmm lets begin….TONIK AGARWAL...i guess u guys know him better. He took charge that he will organise good deals from the college and its better to refrain from buying from outside as huge discounts r offered at college deals.
HaM SaB Tuchh BaLaK FaS Gaye Maya JaAL MAiN.......and we were crazy abt it..did all kind of research abt it....
The day came and we all joined college ,was fully charged up looking at the rocking atmosphere with HUGE COLLEGE ,with the largests of SUNKEN GARDENs i have ever seen, with the HUGE PEntAGoN...i had a charm to visit PENTAGON once in my life time..din't knew ki itni jadli aur aisse pura hoga yeh khwab..neverthless...saw the rarest COMBINATIONS of some beauties and brains...woh baat alag hai .....dono dooor door khadi thi....suna tha FORE is famous for chicks ....and the best answer abt this would be "NO COMMENTS" as one of my frnd does for everything she wanna smile at.
I had my first encounter wid him"TONIK", he was a guy wid high level of professionalism. He is here just to speak business. I had full chat with him abt the deals that he gonna provide us....i was AS PPL say in MBA ...SPOC for this deal between FMG XVII and TONIK.
I was impressed by the way things were going .....i collected the names of 89 odd people interested in the purchase ,with the help of 1 more guy...."a gud at heart sardar" but as things proceeded i came to know there was something mischievous and it was the time for me to take a step back.
This was the time i quit from the bulk deal.....and following me there was huge bunch..ppl might know it better...there was just 11 ppl who were interested in taking APPLE and some HP through TONIK...he was feeling as if all his work of last 2 months is going waste......he tried to bring me back and convince others and make a successful deal. But i did what i felt doing gud....did what ever came direct DIL SE.....and this was a point ...ROSE A BULK DEALER.
I convinced DELL india agent to give us discount which was more than whatever the college was offering us. It was a party for us....i ordered my DELL studio and with me there were 34 people who bought DELL lappie.
It was a successful deal which surely made some people my enemy but i made in numerous friends which gave me enough of learning which i will remember in my lifetime. I still remember the animosity between TONIK and me....but it was surely professional.
Otherwise i know, he also knows what ever was going on was ethical up to what extent.
The above scene had a lasting impression on my personal image that ‘I’ smashed a possible sponsorship from apple which u could surely see in GENESIS ...apple being a co sponsor....
BUT for me......i was interviewed and judged in all the phases in FCD, FAN and NEXUS selection upon that. Even after moving to final stages i was unable to make it......some lessons are really really required to make u more tougher and to stand out amongst the RAT race.
Thanks to TONIK for all this which made me realise the true picture of a new world and one thing is for sure....u would remember me for this.
hey guys the discussion has grown serious.....must tell u i am being harassed these days by my frnds.....for everywhere we go....i am asked to get a BULK DEAL...being my CORE COMPETENCIES. I remember the AUTO RICKSHAW deals.....even when we had a bad ACCOUNTS and ECONOMICS paper, i had 20 ppl approaching me for a bulk deal for getting a paper at lesser price than RS 2500.
But in all love u all guys...for the support u all have shown towards me.....for the craziest of moments when i entered the audi.....or being the CR of SECTION C.....i couldn't forget the action packed atmosphere in the classes and ppl ready to support me. thank you all...love you :)
